My camera is my conduit to the world because it allows me to breathe eternity into a moment in time and immortalize its content. My photos mirror my life’s journeys…I incorporate the visceral history of the spaces and places I traverse with the faces of the people who have embedded their lives in those chapters, seeking to capture the essence of my subjects and their textured lives. My subjects speak a universal language that echoes a familiar emotion and confronts us with contemplation
I sometimes manipulate images until they resonate with my passions for music, dance, and humanity. I find texture on the streets of NYC, text on graffiti in Brazil, fortitude and humanity on peoples faces in Cuba and fascination at the diverse glory of Africa and the indomitable spirit of its’ people.
Color, wisdom and history stare at me through my lens and inspire me to create a universal and harmonious collage of life.
