X Gallery Presents Samuel Kaplan
X Gallery presents artist Samuel Kaplan , an American figurative landscape artist. Who's color pallet and imagery are influenced by the French Impressionist's and twentieth century artists such as Edward Hopper, Norman Rockwell and Andrew Wyeth. Sam was trained in classic European Oil on Canvas painting techniques at the Art Students League. He has exhibited his work in Manhattan, East Hampton, Washington, DC and Art Basel, Miami.
The Harlem 2 Montauk theme explores a slightly different view of local landmarks and cultural influences in his work. Reviewed in the Southampton Press as “not Unlike Magritte in his surrealistic interpretation,” Harlem 2 Montauk is a 30 year retrospective of Samuel Kaplan’s paintings.
