Topeng (Mask) Series
Masks have always been a powerful symbol in human society. They have been used for everything from protection to rituals, to signify happiness, or create fear.
Today more than ever masks again play an important part in our lives. For many, they protect against the epidemic threat we are facing. For a few, they symbolize political or ideological leanings.
No matter what, masks evoke deep emotions in human society.
These paintings are of tribal masks of old that symbolize everything from joy, love, life, and death.
Once again, a covering of the face can transform not just the wearer but those around them.
