HARLEM, NY, USA
I’m Alfred Tumblin and this is an excerpt from my #staysafestayhome series of fashion illustration during lockdown in Brooklyn. I endowed each design with a mask to set the pace for accessories that are now a necessity. Each creation is not only an outfit but a character embodying a style driven reaction to this new normal. I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana but Hurricane Katrina landed me in New York. In homage to the mystic epicenter of America I present you with my take on the “Voodoo Queen.” New Orleans was hit hard by Covid 19 but Creole culture lives on through artist like me who make sure our traditions are never forgotten through mediums such as art, cuisine, story telling and more.
