My work challenges the observer to recognize their impact in our world. Like a hive of bees, I believe all living things are connected. Individual actions are often reactions in a vicious cycle of cause and effect. I work to disrupt the recurring chain-reactions of trauma. I work in an effort to give the viewer a moment to pause and ask themselves "why?" I work to challenge the ideologies of colonizers that still live strong today and to awaken a new age of healing.
My work stands on the shoulders of greats like Gordon Parks and Angela Davis. Humans who wielded their unfiltered lenses at the world and shared what they saw in hopes the future would be brighter.
